The new office world of the Allianz Global Digital Factory looks like a loft which mirrors the innovation of the digital age in every corner of the building. Insurance and digital experts from worldwide Allianz companies meet here in order to develop new digital offers for their clients.
The baierl + demmelhuber divisions complete interior fit-out and interiors were involved in the project. The scope of works for the turnkey fit-out incl. execution drawings consisted of drywall and fire protection works, tiling and painting works, flooring works, metal and carpenter works, glass partition walls and the integration of media technology.
The division interiors manufactured extravagant special furniture: The “Cave” was produced in-house the B+D wood manufactory and is a modern retreat for small meetings. The “Treehouses” are mobile meeting islands which will be used for further Allianz projects in the future. Cenral design elements of the Allianz Global Digital Factory are the “Park”, a planted room partition made from oak and American walnut wood, which extends over two floors, the “Spiral” and the “Stand”, a three-dimensional platform and an exceptional steel staircase which can also be used as an arena for presentations as they are equipped with seating areas.
The biggest challenge in the realisation of the project was the tight time schedule. By contracting baierl + demmelhuber, the landlord hired the perfect partner. B+D offers its clients optimised interfaces from demolition up to furniture delivery as it has all trades in-house. Short distances, uncomplicated coordination across all trades and short reaction times within the construction period are guaranteed.
In only nine weeks until the fixed press event, the works were precisely coordinated between all B+D units and also between B+D and the architects in order to also develop the execution drawings within the given construction period. Paired with efficiency and close collaboration in the production process, the project was successfully completed within the planned time frame.
The project was honoured with the German Design Award 2018.
